Pierce Chalmers selected as candidate for Erith & Thamesmead
Pierce has strong ties across South East London from living, going to school and growing up in the area. He has stood in two local elections for Greenwich Borough Council and is a strong advocate for ensuring people's voices are heard. His experience from working in different areas of finance will allow him to work on fixing the economic mess left by the disastrous Brexit deal.
He has opposed the construction of the traffic-inducing Silvertown tunnel and is well aware of the effects the introduction of tolls for both the Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels will have on residents during the current cost-of-living crisis. As a young person looking to get on the property ladder, Pierce understands how difficult it is to find affordable housing in the area at the moment. Like many, he has seen first hand the effects of years of Tory austerity on the
NHS. The crisis that our health service is facing cannot be allowed to continue.
Pierce is ready to tackle the issues that really matter to the people in Erith and Thamesmead head on. Bold action is needed, as a member of the Liberal Democrat party, he is prepared to fight for this.
